WHY DO PEOPLE OF NORTH-EAST INDIA HAVE TO FACE RACISM FROM ITS ON COUNTRY

Why do people of north-east India have to face racism from its on country
Apart from having to deal with “jokes” and casual racist comments, these sorts of internalisation of stereotypes takes a mental toll as well. Ila adds, “For me, analysing in a prestigious institute is no longer just about me. Coming from the northeast and Nagaland, I have to lift the weight of representing my community. Some primary stereotypes that we have to deal with are that we are dumb, we only be aware of how to dress, and we have very poor English. I do have an inferiority complicated due to the fact ever on the grounds that I was once a kid, the belief that we are inferior to the different mainland Indian human beings has been reinforced. This is reflected in public participation. I often feel like I’ll never be good sufficient and humans won’t pay attention to what I have to say because it’s no longer mentally enough.”

These situations of “casual” racism are now not remotes instances. It has led to systemic racism and institutionalised validation of such practices. It is firmly rooted in a larger structure which has been created by lopsided power relations. A structure which makes abuse a every day affair for quite a few north-eastern women, one which effects in the branding of north-eastern women as “easy,” and one which treats patterns of structural violence as isolated incidents

North East India is the land of gripping scenic beauty formed of high hills, cascading waterfalls and undulating streams and exotic wildlife. It comprises eight states – Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.

Media always find bad news about this beautiful place like a bomb blast, kidnapping etc, but they never talk about the beauty and kind-hearted people there.

The main issue is that these people are facing racism in their own country, In most of the places these people are not treated well.

Let’s talk about some cases happened with these people.

On January 29, 2014, a young guy named Nido Taniam was beaten to death in in the Lajpat Nagar area of Delhi, the reason he looked simply different.

In 2016 two young guys from Mizoram were beaten in Bangalore for not speaking their local language.

Two students from Nagaland were brutally tortured for hours by local men in Goregaon to teach them a lesson that you don’t belong here. They said, “if you Northeast people come here we will kill you.”

Some hotel denied to give them entry just because they don’t look Indian enough. There are too many cases in which people from Northeast are harsh just because they don’t look Indian enough. They are told to prove their nationality. These people not given jobs, house on the basis of their ethnicity or race.

The problem is that we never talked about their culture, their stories and is not explored with rest of India. Even Bollywood has done harm by not giving right information.

The Government should take responsibility for teaching the country about history, culture and politics of this Nation.

And same thing happened in present time a famous YouTuber paras Singh who is a pubg gamers and also influencer post a video spreading racism towards our Arunachal Pradesh people because there government or chief minister tweeted to prime minister says that pubg should still be ban in india well now it's fine to be angry on thim because of it.

but this video contain a series of hatred addressing that Arunachal Pradesh people don't look like India and also said in this statement that, after opening the map of India and way telling where is Arunachal Pradesh and then said it's near china so they share china border very rudely now this created a huge amount of angerness to the people of Arunachal Pradesh and also there Mla has fired case against paras Singh

For now also this case also will be shorted out and also he removed his video that he post and also post a video of sorry to the views that what he said.

Now even though 70 years of independence why do people of india treat our north east brothers and sisters different from us we all are born in same mother land they also have full right to call them indian as each and everyone in this country do.

In the end, I would like to say – Who is an Indian? What is an Indian?
